3 Amazing Gifts I Received from Other Moms that were NOT on my Registry

...Because my girlfriends with kids knew what I needed.

When Baby Registry time rolled around, I basically used the Amazon checklist,

and it totally worked out! Friends and family purchased nearly 80% of our list and my husband and myself filled in the rest as needed. I felt like I had hit all of the necessary stops, and our bub wouldn't find himself without the major things he needed for at least, the first year of life. As a FTM, I had no objections whatsoever to my registry. I thought, “cool, I have what I need,” and I did! However, some of my friends went above and beyond my calling, by sending additional items they thought I would love along with the things I requested. They just knew what I needed, and I'm so grateful for their gifts because I cannot imagine the last year without them. Although I received many great things in addition to my registry items, I'm going to give you my TOP 3!

1. Boba Wrap Baby Carrier

Not all baby carriers are created equal, and I can actually say that, HA! No shade intended, but I received a competitors wrap baby carrier and it never quite felt "right." The material lacked give, stretch, and length. Also, it was so thick I couldn't put my baby in there without feeling completely overwhelmed by the heat of it. My Boba Wrap is soft, endlessly stretchy, and has enough length to be knotted twice. From the 1st wrap, I knew this would be a game changer for me and my clingy little bub. He slept in it, well, like a baby! And it became a permanent part of our skin-to-skin ritual. 10/10 recommend.

2. NoseFrida Nasal Aspirator

I have to admit that before ever becoming a mom, the concept of sucking boogers from a baby's nose made me gag. So when my best friend sent me a completely unsolicited NoseFrida, I literally laughed and thought, "well, bless her heart."

I never took it out of the box or even entertained choosing it over the good, old-fashioned, bulb aspirators. Then my sweet baby got his 1st cold. When the bulb failed miserably, the FridaNose became our savior. And yes, I quickly conquered my booger phobia. When it's crunch time, and you've got a suffering little one, you will 100% want to have this in your arsenal.

3. BOON Squirt Feeding Spoon

I can't imagine the puree introduction journey without this thing. You fill the silicone base, twist the top on, and neatly squeeze mouthfuls of puree into the spoon. It's easy to use and easy to clean. My bub actually gets excited when the BOON spoon comes out! And I don't know if it's me or him but meals just seem so mess-free when we use it. 'Tis truly magical.. you know it's a 10/10!

Here's to gifting your parenting pals all the things they didn't know they needed!

This is very helpful. I've seen some of these and was seriously struggling to figure out what they mean. Thanks!
